30-Day Social Media Detox Challenge! – Day 2
Hey everyone! If you haven’t seen Day 1 of this 30-Day Social Media Detox Challenge, I’ll leave a link below so you can follow along my progress and journey.
Day 2 Journal – 30-Day Social Media Detox Challenge
I’m only on Day 2 of this journey, but I realized this challenge is going to be a lot more difficult than I imagined. First of all, I already broke the rules yesterday by checking my analytics more than once. I don’t think that’s enough to say I failed the challenge, but I will try to avoid doing this going forward.
The hardest part of this challenge so far is avoiding YouTube videos and Reddit posts. Normally, I would watch a YouTube video when eating alone, but yesterday I had my meals in silence. Since this is only a social media detox challenge, I can technically watch TV or Netflix. However, I am avoiding these forms of entertainment as well because I feel like it defeats the purpose of this challenge. On the upside, I am getting through my meals much quicker.
On another note, I finally fixed my sleeping schedule. Recently, I’ve been falling asleep around 2:00 to 3:00 AM. Yesterday, I went to bed earlier than usual at 10:30 pm and fell asleep at around midnight. I avoided using any devices which is good, but it still took me a while to fall asleep. Hopefully, this improves over time.
I woke up at around 8 AM today and went to the gym for a morning workout. Going to the gym on a Sunday morning is the best because there aren’t too many people. Today’s workout consisted of pull-ups, deadlifts, and bench presses. I’m not usually a morning person, but I feel like getting things done earlier in the day helps me feel more productive and leaves me more time in the afternoon to work on my projects and hobbies.
Anyway, I think the challenge is going well so far. It’s only been 2 days, but I already feel more focused and productive without the wasted time on social media. It’s only 12:00 PM right now, so If anything noteworthy happens, I’ll keep you posted!
