Day 6-16 Journal – 30-Day Social Media Detox Challenge
Hey everyone. It’s been a while since my last update on my progress, and unfortunately, I have some bad news. I had a rough week and really struggled with the challenge. It started when I caught a cold that lasted several days. I was dealing with a fever, sinus infection, and a pounding headache. I used this as an excuse to indulge in social media while I was bedridden, and it just snowballed from there. I’m honestly disappointed in myself, but I have no plans to give up.
I knew going into this challenge that it would be difficult, but I didn’t realize just how hard it would be. Social media is so ingrained in my life, and in today’s society, that it feels almost impossible to avoid. I’m not saying all forms of social media are bad. In fact, I think social media can be great for promoting your business, projects, and sharing your interests, talents, and unique perspectives with the world.
However, social media is also full of unnecessary distractions that can be a time consuming and even addictive. The algorithms that tailor content to your interests also make it harder to resist.
Now that I’ve fully recovered from the cold, I plan to get back on track with this challenge. My productivity definitely took a hit this last week, so my goal is to improve it this week. There are so many things I want to accomplish — I just need to take accountability and take action.
